Being able to carry and the determination of product from a centrifuge (batch) to a subsequent drying is almost always problematic; in fact, often the product in addition to being humid, is also considerable amount of lumps that can hardly be broken by traditional lump breaker.
This feeder is composed by a double screw (the two screws turn in the opposite directions) inside a rotary bored tubular housing.
When the product falls from the vibrating cone into the screws, the crossed action of the screws pushes it and an the same time crumbles it.
The part of the product with a particle size lower than the holes of the rotary housing, is expelled by the system and falls in the vibrating ribbon below, that feeds the fluid-bed dryer, non with contant capacity and dimensions.
The part of product with a particle size bigger than the holes of the rotary housing, is pushed at the end of the system.
Over there, a slow system brokes the remaining lumps: the accetable size is recycled in one of the screws, the “crusts” are discharged and separated from the other product.
The whole system can be kept under a slight flow of compressed gas, that makes easier the cleaning of the bored tubular housing.
